Nooky Gossip 76: Happy New Year, Colour of 2022 and Belles and Whistles Sale!

Pantone's Color Institute studies how, “colour influences human thought processes, emotions and physical reactions, furthering its commitment to providing professionals with a greater understanding of colour and to help them utilize colour more effectively.”

They are best known for their often controversial colour of the year prediction. The colour of the year is supposedly the colour we are going to see everywhere over the next 12 months. And recently they announced their colour of the year for 2022, Very Peri! Check out some Very Peri inspired items available at Shabby Nook!

Very Peri is a blue with a red violet undertone. And it was created specifically for Pantone’s colour of the year designation.

In the spotlight this week is Janette McKay from McKay Designs who has been doing some incredible work using Posh Chalk products. This vintage tallboy is just one example.

Janette used Dixie Belle's Black Sands and Sawmill Gravy with a little Sea Spray mixed in for added texture as the base colours. She then used Posh Chalk Metallic Pastes as washes, layering the different shades on top of one another to create this stunning and one of a kind finish. The shades used were Brown Van Dyke, Green Bronze and Precious White Gold. Finally she sealed the piece with Dixie Belle's Satin Top Coat.

How gorgeous is this finish?! You won't find anything like this in furniture chain store that's for sure!
