Nooky Gossip 51! Shereena's Urban Project! POLYVINE is coming soon! Enduro Var! Alice in Wonderland In the Spotlight! Clearpay comes to Shabby Nook!
The current DIY project I have on the go is renovating my son, Charlie’s, bedroom. I got hold of a second-hand chest of drawers that I updated with an urban feel – a style that fits perfectly with his bedroom! You can watch my quick TikTok video of the makeover here!

I prepped by cleaning the chest of drawers with Grime Cutter and giving it a really light scuff sand with General Finishes Sanding Pads. There are a few dings in it which I left to add to the urban/warehouse type look I was going for. I used Dixie Belle’s No Pain Gel Stain in Walnut to stain it. I love this stuff as it gives deep and rich coverage and is super quick and easy peasy to apply - I just used a micofibre cloth to apply it and wipe it back! I then painted the carcass and handles with 2 coats of Dixie Belle's Silk All In One Mineral Paint in Black Sands to finish the look off! Did you notice the wall in Charlie's room behind the drawers? That has been painted in Autentico's Eggshell paint in Lava - it works really well in this space and enhances the look and feel of his room. Charlie loves it!

Enduro Var from General Finishes is beautiful at enhancing wood – it feels like you’ve applied an oil finish but it is actually water-based! It’s so clever! It ambers the wood slightly and really brings out the grain. You can also use it over dark paint colours and it is water resistant. I love this product! Available in gloss, satin and flat.

Lesley Pearson is in the spotlight this week with this fun upcycled tissue box holder! Lesley transformed it into a dreamy Alice in Wonderland decoration by painting it with Dixie Belle Chalk Paint in Fluff, Caviar and a custom mix of Peony and Soft Pink, applying transfers and sealing it all with Satin Top Coat. The gorgeous Alice in Wonderland themed transfers are from the Belles & Whistles range and Lesley enhanced the look by adding a tiny bit of a transfer from Redesign with Prima. I love this pretty and playful take on a tissue box holder! Such a fab idea!
