The UK's First Furniture Painting Business Conference took place on 3rd - 5th September 2021 and it was A-MA-ZING! I had the best time hanging out with like-minded people, learning new things and motivating each other to shoot for the stars when it comes to our businesses!

The conference included workshops, demonstrations and business support. I attended to represent Shabby Nook, make our big announcement (see below!) and to showcase General Finishes products (and of course, to have a good time with my favourite kind of people!) I love these cute trinket boxes by Laura Downes from Cherubs Chalks Interiors! Laura painted the boxes in Dixie Belle Chalk Paint, applied Belles and Whistles transfers in her chosen design and finished them with Dixie Belle’s Clear Satin Topcoat. Laura’s tip for using transfers on curved pieces is to apply them to the main/flat surfaces first and make sure the design is fully burnished onto that surface before bending it and applying it to the curved surfaces.

From left to right Laura has used the Sunflower transfer with Aubergine and Drop Cloth, the Steam Punktransfer with Mint Julep and Mud Puddle, and the Tropical Leaves transfer with Peony and Dixie Belle Blue. What a fabulous idea for gifts! They are seriously pretty!
