What is the coverage and drying times of daydream apothecary paint?

1 gallon covers 350 -400 square feet.

Touch dry in 30 minutes

Recoat in 2 hours

Full cure time 10 - 14 days

Daydream Apothecary Paint Application Guidance

Do not apply below 10 degrees. High humidity will prolong the drying and curing time.

stir or shake well before use. 2 coats are recommended. easy clean up, water based paint and cleans with hot soapy water from brushes and other surfaces if no sealer has been applied.

Daydream paint must be sealed. Use 2-3 coats of Dream Coat or other similar topcoats or wax to protect the paint. such as General Finishes high performance topcoat or Annie Sloan Wax.

Avoid using slick stick by Dixie Belle with any Daydream apothecary paint or topcoat. They do not play well together.

You do not have to prime difficult to paint surfaces! Daydream paint has magical powers ;) and will adhere to even the most trickiest.

Remember adhesion power is totally different to stain blocking power. Daydeam Apothecary Paint has adhesion power, NOT stain blocking power.

For example:

If you are painting mahogany you may get bleed through from the wood tannins as with any paint on the market.

Another example, If you sand your piece right down to bare wood, tannins from the wood will tint your paint colour, anything from a light yellow to dark tobacco brown or reddy pink...dependant on wood species and the colour of the paint you are using if you are using.

A dark paint colour you can get away with more. Anything from a mid tone up you need to consider using a stain blocker.

If the wood is completely sealed with a lacquer and the finish is still good not scratched or dented, don't be tempted to sand that right back to the wood grain.
