In the Spotlight this week is Tracy Watson who transformed a plain pine chest of drawers into the gorgeous green shabby chic work of art in these pics! Tracy painted the base in Fusion Sacred Sage and then applied Dixie Belle’s Crackle Glaze, allowing it to dry before painting over it with a custom mix of Fusion’s Pressed Fern and Coal Black.

The Crackle Glaze caused the top coat of paint to crack and the lighter green to show through like old paint on a pre-loved piece of furniture. The decoupage papers used on the top three drawers were also crackle glazed creating delicate cracks on the surface to look like old varnish. Tracy says that the crackle glaze was really easy to use – just paint it on and wait for it to dry! She created the larger cracks by going over the glaze with thicker paint. Thanks for sharing, Tracy, this piece is fab!
