In the Spotlight!
Like sunshine on a rainy day this eye-catching yellow side table created by Connie Clarke makes me smile! This simple and effective look shows we don't always need to use lots of different colours to make a big difference to our decor (although I love doing that too!) Connie used Dixie Belle paint in Daisy to create this striking showpiece and says 'I love a bright splash of colour and it seemed the perfect quirky piece - the coverage of Daisy is amazing for a yellow too.' Great job Connie! The vibrant simplicity was adored by the members of the Facebook Group. How to Prevent Brush Strokes and Your Paint Drying Too Quickly

During the warmer months of the year, paint drying too quickly can be a real pain and cause those pesky brush strokes to show on your finished product. It's so frustrating! But don't worry! Shereena is here to give you some tips to get a flawless finish and alleviate the pain of visible brush strokes!

Tip 1. General Finishes Extender is the perfect product to use with any water based stains, sealers, finishes, paints, and glazes. Use it in a 10-15% mix with your desired water based product and it will extend the drying time - helpful in hot, dry conditions or just to  improve flow and levelling.

Tip 2. Use a good quality brush and make sure it is the right brush for the paint you are using. Most people like to use a soft, synthetic fibre brush. We stock a huge array of brushes - find the right one for you on our website! Our absolute bestsellers are the Cling On S50 Stubby Brush and the Cling on S30 Stubby Brush - they are perfect for smooth finishes and blending.

Tip 3. Keep your brush damp and don't let it dry out between coats!

Tip 4. When painting a large surface area, such as a wardrobe or large table top, we highly recommend using a microfibre roller. This will give you a flawless finish, is very easy to use, applies the product evenly and you can cover a large area quickly without too many overlaps. We stock the fab Staalmeester Rollers in a 2 pack, a 10 pack and the individual roller frame. The Staalmeester rollers are new to the market and they are an absolute dream to work with!

Let me know what other tips would come in handy - I'm very happy to help!
